Is A 4.8-inch Screen iPhone 6 Coming In 2014?

BGR recently posted that a 4.8-inch screen iPhone may become a reality in the next coming iPhone 6.  This iPhone 6 would obviously come some time in 2014.  Many people rejoice, but some others are quite skeptical in adopting this large-screen-idea.  All previous iPhones have always had the same iPhone width.  This is because of the average finger width is only useable in a certain radius.  Because of this known fact, the iPhone screen shouldn’t change.  This however might be false!

Some unidentified reports are claiming that the iPhone 6 will come with a 4.8-inch screen variant.  This does seem possible as Samsung is leading the troops to larger screen sizes.  The fact that larger screened devices are being seen in use by more people today then ever does give reason for the possibility of a 4.8-inch Screen iPhone 6.

The edge-to-edge concepts also seems like an idea worth reasoning with.  If Apple did produce the edge-to-edge screen on the new iPhone 6, it might increase the useable touch-radious available.  If this did happen, the realization of a 4.8-inch Screen iPhone 6 would seem possible.  However Apple most likely will always produce the same smaller 4-inch screen iPhones alongside the other models if they do in fact adopt the 4.8″ concept.

Analysts Peter Misek has reported that the iPhone 6 may likely feature a 4.8″ screen as he describes below:

“Despite still seeing risk to CQ4 and FY13 revs, we now believe better [gross margins] will allow Apple to skate by until iPhone 6 launches with its 4.8″ screen. We est ~50% of smartphone shipments have >4″ screens and that iPhone 6 will catalyze a large upgrade cycle. The stock is attractive based on the attitude change, FY15 revs >+15%, and valuation.”

Here at Vault Feed, were a little skeptical!  It seems that the iPhone 6 could feature the larger screen, however this wouldn’t be a good move for Apple.  Innovation for many companies has got partially stagnant.  Samsung keeps popping out new devices.  However sadly they only do the same functional things.  After awhile, people will realize that bigger isn’t better.  Just because you slap a large HD screen on your device doesn’t make you “cool.”

Apple just needs to stick with maybe a 4.3-inch display embedded in a similar edge-to-edge design seen Here: Best iPhone 6 Edge-t-edge prototype ever!  But please, no galaxy–screen-sized devices.  It actually makes partial sense that Samsung tends to shy towards larger screen sizes calling them “Galaxy.”  Maybe they need to size up to the size of galaxies in space…  Not sure if there is any correlation but it makes me think!  hm…

In fact didn’t Apple produce the Macbook Air to make things smaller?  They wanted to shrink things.  Now the tech world is resorting to such things as a massive nearly unusable display?  Making devices more portable and more useable are always concerns of device makers, however it seems like many devices produced today are digressing.

What this world needs is some real innovation.  Perhaps a device that you don’t have to even cary.  It’s unknown what new technology will be “the next big thing”, but for now bigger screens can’t be the answer to the pleading cry for a greater level of innovation in tech.  [Via BGR]

What do you think?  Should Apple produce the 4.8-inch Screen iPhone 6 variation?
