OS X Mavericks was just released for a one time FREE price from Apple.  At least you don’t have to pay for it, however if you plan on installing it on any other computers and don’t have access to wifi for some reason, you will have issues.  But if you have Bootable OS X Mavericks USB Thumb Drive, you can simply boot from it at any time.  It also beats the Bootable OS X Thumb Drives from Apple costing a whopping $69.99!  I personally wouldn’t go that route.

If you have an old 8GB thumb drive laying around this is the perfect use!  You can always erase the thumb drive later after your install, or just keep it and use it anytime you like!

How To Make a Bootable OS X Mavericks USB Thumb Drive:

Step 1:

• Search and find the “Disc Utility” application.  Make sure your thumb drive is inserted into the computer.  Then select the upper level of USB thumb drive inside of the Disc Utility App.
• Then go to partition.  Then format the USB drive.  Make sure the name is “Untitled” (This will change later don’t worry).  Make sure that when you format the USB, it is Mac OS Extended (journaled).

Step 2:

• Now make sure that the downloaded file “Install OS X Mavericks.app is placed into the “applications” section.  You should see the installer found inside the application folder itself for this process to work properly.
• Then you need to find and open the “Terminal app.”  If you search for it, it usually comes up easily.  You should see a blank space and then you enter the code which will format and copy the installer into the USB drive.  (Note:  If you don’t have a 8GB USB drive, this may not work)

Step 3:

• When you have the “Terminal app” opened up, simply copy the following code into the terminal and press enter.  Make sure it is exactly the same as seen below.

Step 4:

• Now you need to wait.  You will see the following message, but just keep waiting and you will soon have the Bootable OS X Mavericks USB Thumb Drive ready to use!

You are now finished!  Just wait for awhile.  The process could take up to 20 minutes, but it usually is faster!

Using the Bootable OS X Mavericks USB Thumb Drive:

When you are ready to use this, simply boot up your mac, and when you hear the startup sound, immediately hold the “Option” key on your Mac.  When you have held it, you will see some options.  One of them should be the USB thumb drive mavericks installer.  point over to that and press enter.  THe rest of the process should take place perfectly fine.  If any of the steps above were done incorrectly it may not work as described.  (via MacRumors)

The list below is what we should expect in Apple’s new product lineup! Every time Apple prepares to release a whole new set of products, the world stands still to see what they will be.  We already have some assumptions on the different lineups.  There should be new iPads, new Macbook’s and other new products that are more then likely to hit the Apple pipeline soon after this October 22nd event!

New Apple TV

The rumor mill has it that some new features are on its way to the Apple TV.  These features including a new model may be seen in this new product lineup!  Were all excited about the current possibilities within the Apple TV.  Apple will be exploiting them in the next few years in it’s suggestions and new product upgrades.

New iPod Touch

There may be new colors of the iPod Touch that will be seen.  Apple may not decide to upgrade these devices, however it is likely that something may change and a new iPod touch will appear.  Only time will tell for the Oct. 22nd event to show us what Apple truly does have in store for us!

New Mac Pro

You can see Apple already showing off their new and innovative cylindrical Mac Pro on their website Apple.com.  This will most likely be one of the bigger launches.  It is changing the way desktop computing has been done for ages.  The round design features better air flow among many other aspects that make it a world class dominating desktop machine!

New OS X Mavericks

Mavericks is another operating system by Mac.  It has been showcased on the Apple website and most likely will be officially launched for download sometime this October.  Most likely on the 22nd.  Apple continues to merge iOS with the desktop OS X.  Some say the next release may merge it even more something like this:  iOS 7 and Mac OS X Combined.

New and Upgraded Macbook Pros

The new Haswell generation of Intel chips were upgraded in the Macbook Air laptops from Apple.  It also seems evident that the new Macbook Pro’s will also be upgrade with a like chip or possibly a better chip of the same generation. Haswell‘s improved efficiency also would give the new Macbook Pro family higher battery life time.  We all want better battery life.  This seems to be an essential upgrade that we all hope comes in the new release of the Macbook.  The release may not be this October 22nd, however some analysts say that there will be an upgrade in the Macbook Pro family.  Keep your ears in tuned to Vault Feed for more news as Apple’s event unfolds new products for us!

New iPad Mini Photos

The iPad mini will most likely be upgraded.  The images below are just some more of the the iPad mini that will most likely be launched this coming October 22nd in Apple’s event.  You can see the images below.

New iPads and Retina iPad Mini!

The new iPad lineup is questionable.  Some say that we will get Touch ID functionality, however the possibilities are limitless.  The iPad mini will most likely be upgraded to feature a new retina display.  The other iPads will most likely be upgraded to a new processor or perhaps not at all?  We do know that the iPad mini needs an upgrade.  Many people have complained about the screen resolution on the iPad mini.  The iPad mini still sold like hot cakes, however with the new iPad mini ready to launch this 22nd of October we will all see an upgrade of the display!  The Touch ID is also another aspect that many of us are dreaming of, however its for certain that this will happen.  We will however see a new and upgraded iPad mini.

Taking snapshots on your mac can be very helpful if you need to save any information, save an image inside a video, or get images from websites that don’t actively allow you to save the images.  If a website discourages image saving, try not to, however in some cases you may need to.  If you do, simply copy the screen, by taking a screen shot on your mac.  When you do this, you can crop the section that you want, rename it how you like, and use it under fair use or terms described in the place you took the snapshot.

How To Take Snapshot On Mac:

Take the steps outlined below to save a snapshot.

• Step 1 — First you need to be on the page that you want to save.
• Step 2 — When you are on the page you want to save, simply hold the COMMAND + SHIFT + 3 keys.
• Step 4 — Go to your desktop and you will see the image saved their.  You can now move it or edit it.

You can hold the COMMAND + SHIFT + 3 Keys simultaneously anytime and anywhere when you are using your Mac computer.

Uses For Taking Screenshots:

• Save a picture of a funny moment on Skype.
• Save a picture on a website.
• Save a snapshot within any video
• Save a snapshot of a website or text.
• Edit an image or expand anything by taking a snap shot.
• Make a watermarked image!

Use Mac screenshots to watermark an image:

You can also make a watermark with the snapshot function on your Mac.  All you have to do is simply go the page that you want to make the watermark, and drag the websites logo across the screen.  Position the logo while continuing to hold over the image you want the watermark to be placed, then hold the COMMAND + SHIFT + 3 keys to take the snapshot.  When that action is completed, go to your desktop and find the image that you took.  Then crop our the image with the watermarked logo on it!  Your done.  This is a quick and dirty way.  Obviously you can get other programs or used Photo shop, but this is just one way that you can use to make a screenshot of a watermark and capture it!  You can see the image above that has our watermark.  It was made using the screenshot function on a Mac computer from the image above!

Mac OS X has gone through many different variations throughout the years.  Apple seems to lean more and more towards mixing the mobile OS experience and unifying it with the previous desktop OS versions OS X.  Their recent additions of the Launch Pad in OS X has indicated their move from the mobile iOS onto OS X.  The images below were  thought up by  designer Edgar Rios in an attempt to visualize the way that iOS 7 would look joined with OS X and Mavericks making more of a iOS 7 Mac OS X experience!

With a few additions from iOS 7 and reductions from the original Mac OS X, these images present a great visualization of a “iOS 7 Mac OS X” Operating System.

When Apple released the iOS 7, some fans were unhappy with the change in colors, aesthetics, and the overall over-hall.  However most users actually are enjoying the new design.   There are some users that are not enjoying the iOS 7 experience, blaming the transitions for iOS 7 Motion Sickness.  It seems that the fast moving graphics and UI of iOS 7 has given people the worst.  But this doesn’t stop the success of iOS 7.  In fact in the first 24 hours over 18% updated to iOS 7.  More updates continue to roll in as iOS 7 goes through a few updates 7.0.1, and now 7.0.2.  7.0.3 will also be released soon as some other tweaks are being made.

The success of iOS 7 has brought to mind the thought of a conjoined-operating system with iOS and OS X.  This has been part of Apple’s plan in the past, but as these images show, the transition would look great!

People have always wanted to know how they can get iOS on their computers, but the visualized moment is here, where you can see iOS 7 being joined with Mac OSX to form this beautiful illustration seen in the current images attached.  Essentially the main change would be the apps.  They would change to a more squared version that assimilates the iOS 7 version.  Some of Apple’s apps in even OS X lion have been updated in Launch Pad to look like iOS.  However a full on transition has not been made.  As seen in these images, the dock would also change its entire look.  However the change seen here would be a beautiful one!

iOS 7 also has a new pull up bar for changing brightness, music control, preferences and other information.  In this visual illustration, you can see iOS 7’s pull up bar being illustrated as a side slide out bar.  Perhaps this could be the beginning of touch screen Mac computing?

The control center seen on the right would control your songs, control your brightness, shut down, sleep, restart, and other functions like Log Out.  You can also see on the left the slide out for the Notification Center.  This would have all your calendar events listed just like in your iPhone!

With redesigned icons, finder, and safari, this iOS 7 concept of Mac OSX truly does look beautiful!  The question is will you like it?  Would you prefer this IOS 7 Mac OS X vs. the original Mac OS X?

These images seen are of the Apple Campus entrances.  You can see that they have decorated with the colored dots.  It looks somewhat cheap to be honest.  Sadly will this be an awesome iPhone launch, or sadly lacking in “awesome”?

Will this really “brighten everyone’s day?”  Right now we know many rumors on the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

As you can see the same colorful banners are up and beautiful.  The colored dots behind the APple sign doesn’t really seem to cary too much significance, however we will really know tomorrow what Apple, and the Cupertino campus brings us!  Its exciting to see we will expect.

Some of us have tried deleting out accounts from the internet, however it is really hard!  People seem to have the WORST time deleting an account from Amazon but other companies also latch on and don’t let go of your personalized login information etc.

This handy dandy website called JustDelete.me will help you.  JustDelete.me gives you all the information you need to know and the tips for deleting your information off the web.  They don’t actually do the deleting but they will help you a lot!  

You simply just log onto the website and it has little pulldowns for each of the services you want to remove yourself from.  Then it gives you the instructions in deleting yourself from that selected service.  It also gives you a monitor on how hard the process will be.  This might actually be a wakeup call for services and companies that make it “hard” for your to delete yourself!  Its not fair for companies to do this.  you should be able to delete yourself in a few clicks and confirmations.

Facebook for example makes it fairly easy to remove yourself.  Also PayPal simply gives you the option to “delete account” in one simple click.  Most reputable companies should make it easier for you.  Maybe at some point it will be a “wished for” attribute to be listed in justdelete.me as “easy” removability.  Sites that cling onto you and wont let go are sites that you might want to think twice about when signing up in the first place!

The list of most likely will include what MacRumors is suggesting that we will get.  The following new and added features:

• Same if not similar design and outer dimensions
• Fingerprinting scanner (We recently reviewed the fingerprint scanning possibility here:  iPhone Fingerprint scanner)
• An improved camera with larger dual LED Flash.
• An improved camera F stop which will be widened to F/2.0 Aperture!
• A storage option of 128GB will be added into the mix also.  Users needing a LOT of space will be inclined to buy this model i’m sure!
• The iPhone 5S will be offered in different color variations (We recently reviewed the color variations possibility here: iPhone 5C Colors)

These rumors seem to be fairly consistent with the previous releases of the iPhone.  When the iPhone 4 came out it was a completely different design then the iPhone 3Gs, however the 3Gs was no different then the iPhone 3G.  We expect that the iPhone 5C will follow suit with previous launch designs and the rhythm that Apple carries from iPhone 3G>3GS and iPhone 4>4S and iPhone 5>5S.  The model and the model with the “S” signified the same outer model, but different internals.  This will most likely prove true again!

iPhone 5C (Cheaper iPhone Model)

With the approaching date of September 10, we also expect that the iPhone will come in another new and cheaper variation.  This reported iPhone will be called the iPhone 5C.  While this iPhone will be cheaper, it will feature similar internals of the iPhone 5S or possibly the iPhone 5.  The design will be more of a plastic structured back plate.  We will bring you more news as we get it, however if you want to see what the iPhone 5C looks like you can go here:  iPhone 5C Image And Pictures.  The iPhone 5C seems to be a confirmed iPhone model, because of a recent post we made regarding a leaked image showing many iPhone 5C models being tested on a rack.  You can see that here:  iPhone 5C enters testing stages.  This is all the information we have, but make sure to follow us in Facebook for more news on the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S as they come to us!

The video bellow shows most of the actions taken by the Maryland Police, however basically what happened was a “counterfeit-bust”  It was at a mall kiosk that sold iPhones and iPads.  However these iPads and iPhones had replaced screens and backs that were not technically “real-Apple.”

Many people have been in the iPhone repair and re-sale business within the past few years and the “iPhone-market-boom” however this so called “bust” is a wake-up call for those that repair iPhones, iPads, and other Apple products.  Many of these devices have the “Apple” logo, so people assume that they are the “real thing” however the quality standards are not the same.  Apple fears that this may reduce the satisfaction that people have on those “APPLE” products that have replaced screens and replaced parts that are “NON-OEM.”  While this may be true, honest sellers of these products that have replaced non-oem Apple products for sale, disclose this fact so that consumers realize that the “iPhone” they are buying may not be original.  This doesn’t seem to be an issue at all.  But the police in Maryland don’t seem to think that this is an issue!  The video report bellow comes from WBAL-TV 11.

As you can see, these police bought products and took them to an Apple technician to see if they were “original.”  Of coarse they are not because Apple doesn’t even sell original parts (that I know myself)  and they defiantly don’t sell them to the everyday business or consumer!

I personally feel that what they are doing here is completely unfair.  how can these iPhone repair kiosks in malls continue business?  Also people should have already “known” that these items were not original Apple.  Apple doesn’t sell parts!  Go to Apple.com, and you wont find any parts for sale.  They don’t sell parts period.  You can only find “counterfeit” or “non-oem” replacement parts on eBay, or other places.  Replacing these parts is easy which makes the business opportunity great.  I personally believe that Apple may be part of this Police “take-down.”

This is not fair, and unjust.  These products were not sold as “Original Apple” and stealing someones devices for this reason is uncalled for!

How come all the auto parts stores in the U.S. don’t get shut down?  They sell parts for cars, and the car makers don’t control and shut them don’t for being “counterfeit” or “NON-OEM.”  Other repair businesses should be the same.  We live in America.  Don’t you think we deserve the right to have any “NON-OEM” parts installed that we want?  On anything?  Our iPhone, Our car, Our house!  It shouldn’t matter what!  Its “us” as the consumer that must make the choice and decision.  NOT the manufacturers or control freak “police” that think they busted some “huge” crime.  Its lame, pathetic, and sad!

Was this an Apple-conspiricy?  Possibly so!

Apple recently started the iPhone trade-in program which we reviewed a few days ago (here: Apple iPhone Trade-In).  However Apple is seeking to control people.  I personally own and love my iPhone 5, but this is a little far!  Apple may have NOTHING to do with this “bust”  but they are trying to control these “trade-in” options, and the kiosks take in more broken iPhones then you would ever believe!  They then use NON-OEM parts and then re-sell the iPhone at a higher price.  Apple doesn’t like this and I believe that they are using the police, media, and all other avenues to tie-up all the odd ends when it comes to iPhone re-sale and repair.

The best part about the WhatsApp experience is that you no longer have to pay for normal SMS fees that may apply to you in some locations.  Many providers are giving all smartphone users free access to unlimited texting, however some carriers charge for the extra usage.  If you use SMS a lot, then this could be a great app for you!  WhatsApp can let you text any mobile number and you don’t have to pay for the extra SMS charge.  Its a great app, but sadly its only available on your mobile phone.  Steps for downloading the WhatsApp for PC and MAC are bellow.

That doesn’t have to be the way it is, because with this handy program called “BlueStacks” you can now download any android or iPhone app onto your computer using the special program that was developed by BlueStacks.  Its a simple process and ill show you how to get BlueStacks running on your PC, and then how t get your WhatsApp started right on your PC!  Its a lot more simple then you think!

Step 1 to Download WhatsApp

• First you have to download BlueStacks Here: BlueStacks

Step 2 to Download WhatsApp

• Select your correct model if its PC click that, if its MAC click that
• Then install the program and let it do the configuring for you, it is pretty simple!
• It will guide you through the installation process until it is complete!

Step 3 to Download WhatsApp

• After your finished getting the BlueStacks downloaded and installed you must restart your computer.
• After your computer is restarted, you need to download the WhatsApp application.
• Download Here:  WhatsApp Download.
• Now all you have to do is open BlueStacks and open the app that you just downloaded.

Step 4 to Download WhatsApp

• Open the App in the BlueStacks app player and continue to use the WhatsApp app.
• You can use these steps to install almost ANY android app onto your PC / MAC!

Apple has the money and the balls to file any case they really want with Samsung and other phone companies, however recently findings show (as seen in the image above) that “Patent Trolls” have been taking advantage of the fact that Apple has a lot of “Cash.”  According to research firm PatentFreedom, A Patent Troll is “any entity that earns or plans to earn the majority of its revenue from the licensing or enforcement of its patents”.

Obviously Apple has other revenue streams through its products and wont really need to practice such a thing, however other people looking to make a “quick buck” have engaged in this trolling to make millions off of Apple.  This startling news does make you wonder if it might be connected with phony rich patent holders?

According to Forbes, Apple has right around 39.1 Billion dollars and much more adding up as we speak!  Apple has in its on reserves over 137 Billion in reserves alone let alone the cash investments that you can see in the image bellow.  This obviously puts Apple in the perfect spot for people that want to sue for cash!

As you can see the cash that Apple has seen above is staggering.  This might have something to do with all those copyright claims that were filed.  In 2011, Apple had 42 filed claims against them and then 2012 they 44 were filed.  This data could suggest that part of Apples revenue could have been reasoning for those copyright cases that could have earned Apple-Trools some of that extra “cash.”

Apple seems to flaunt its cash in ways that are only seen in their devices themselves.  They just look “RICH.”  Apple also plans on building a huge futuristic space ship costing around 5 billion dollars.  Weather this will actually happen is unknown.  Reports from BusinessWeek state that this huge space ship will cost Apple a chunk, but wont be your “average space ship.”  It is just another sign to the world that Apple is “Rich.”

Apple is always spending money on things, but it has the money.  Our recent post about the New Apple Stores, is just one instance of this.  Apple also plans on building more stores and they have the cash to do it!

It does however make you if Apple is stealing other peoples ideas.  171 patent claims is a fairly large number.  The numbers seem to be going down, and we all know that in the first place, Samsung started to copy the iPhone and the copyright claims just kept on rising!

It will be interesting to see who decides to sue Apple next!

UPDATE: 

Apple will face a new lawsuit filed today by “Remote Locator Systems”, stating that Apple’s “Find My Friends” and “Find My iPhone” apps violate a patent that they hold.  Remote Locater Systems will continue to file and be seen as “just another Apple-Troll” , in its most recent tense!
