New Apple iPhone 5S May Feature A Finger Print Scanner Biometrics on the Home button!
The new iPhone 5S may be the best thing yet, but it just got even better! Reports are coming in that the new iPhone 5C, or reported iPhone 6 will include a fingerprint scanner. This biometric finger print scanner would eliminate the need for the pas code and give your iPhone even a higher level of security yet! The best part is that this handy biometric fingerprint scanner would be located and embedded inside the home button. Im pretty sure it wont be a cheap fix if you have to fix that expensive little button! These rumors about the fingerprint scanner are real. You can see the physical proof of Apple changing the plate under the button to incorporate the necessary board components to support such a thing!
The concept above by Arthur Reis, is a great implementation of what the iPhone 5S may look like with the fingerprinting finger print scanning technology. There are a few concepts. The one that you see pictured bellow is an idea where the button would essentially be the scanner for your finger. I would imagine that when you press the button it authenticates the user with the passcode like action in the iPhone with your exact fingerprint. Its smart, and its a great idea if it works well.
The worst thing ever: Apple will have pressure to make a very good implementation of this biometrics scanning ability. In fact the WORST thing that could ever happen is a bad functioning biometrics. I used to have an old IBM T86, and the fingerprint scanner was the worst thing that ever happened! You could never get it to work and when it did work I was happy, but when it didn’t… You dont want to know… Apple can do it, however if I get my shinny new iPhone 5S, and it doesn’t ever work eight, ill feel pretty bad. Apple is notorious for doing a good job, so I assume the best and await the new iPhone 5S!
The image above shows the metal spacer and indicates that the rumors about the biometrics scanner could be true! All we have to do is wait and see what becomes of this idea. If Apple decides to do this it will be done well, and most likely people will be happy! Previous smartphones have implemented the scanner, but because they didn’t function well, people didn’t buy into the idea. A perfect functioning 99.9& accuracy fingerprint iPhone scanner would be the best! I cant wait. This also has an effect on the biometrics stock market.
According to Bloomberg, the stock price quote of Precise Biometrics AB (PREC) is rising due to the rumors rising around the iPhone 5S and it’s fingerprint scanner. Bloomberg noted:
“Apple is giving a strong indication that market leaders see biometrics as part of their roadmap,” said Thomas Marschall, chief executive officer of Precise Biometrics AB (PREC), a maker of authentication equipment such as fingerprint sensors in Lund, Sweden. “All competitors are looking for alternatives to match Apple — it’s the kickoff of a rally in the industry.”
Im not quote sure what the outcome will be, however i’m excited to see fingerprint scanning ability and biometrics implemented on the new iPhone 5S or iPhone 6! What do you think?
