The famous Blackberry Messenger app is released for iPhone & Android. BBM was one of the best apps that most blackberry devices had and used. However the decline in Blackberry use and the sad stock quote indicates that BBM may never be what it used to be! Users are flocking to other smartphone providers for an enhanced user experience. There are indications of a flawed company structure and poorly handled launch when it comes to Blackberry in genera, but will BBM be the one last chance for Blackberry to capture a attentive audience?

BBM Blackberry Messenger Is Now Launched.

As you can see above the Blackberry Messenger gets release on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. BBM has been a loved IM chat messenger for some time and apparently it’s still being used enough to warrant an app. There is a slight possible chance that Blackberry will gain forward momentum by releasing this app, but this is not sure-fire. In fact Blackberry has been taking on losses as we speak and the stock quote continues to decline. The app however does give you an experience unlike many other messaging apps. Blackberry currently supports a PIN in it’s messaging system. You can only be logged in with one device at a time with your individual PIN. This poses problems when you own several devices, but BBM will most likely be more successful then there previous product launch.

You can download the BBM software using the links below:

iPhone — BBM Blackberry Messenger

Android — BBM Blackberry Messenger

I’m fairly surprised that the Blackberry Messaging app was even accepted to the iTunes and Android app store. This will be a breakthrough for Blackberry, but it might not be enough to bring Blackberry back to ground level.

Blackberry Needs To Fix It’s Business Model:

I personally purchased Blackberry stock with the thought that it would increase. I believed that Blackberry had a significant idea for dual workplace environments on their iPhones. However a good idea does no good if it’s implementation is flawed. Sadly Blackberry has been loosing loyal followers because their niche is too narrow. Not everyone wants a business only phone. If I were Blackberry, I would implement a different marketing plan and offer much higher quality components. For example the Blackberry Bold 9900/9930 has no automatic focus. Many people have complained about this fact and it remains to be a thorn in many users Blackberry camera experience. Because of the negative connotations that some devices have received in the past Blackberry continues to get a “bad rap.” Blackberry needs to take notes from Apple. They need to refine their smartphone even more before releasing it to the public. They need to fix every aspect that can be fixed pre-launch.

Blackberry Needs Better Product Launches:

Blackberry also needs to improve the way they launch products. They should keep their designs a secret until the launch. Then the media will run out of ink when reporting. The sensation would hit the web like when the iPhone 4 was finally found in the bar. There are unique and different marketing approaches that Blackberry could be using in their product launches. I believe that all hope isn’t over for Blackberry, but hope won’t continue to last much longer if Blackberry doesn’t pick up its feed and start standing taller when it comes to it’s product launches.

BBM Blackberry Messenger

Blackberry Messenger BBM has a uncertain future on both Android and iTunes app stores, but it is currently gaining momentum through positive reviews! Some people are unhappy, but the majority are pleased with BBM and their in-app experience. This single app release could be a liberating moment for many Blackberry users. Many may go to an iPhone and continue to use the messaging experience, and others will transfer to a blackberry to receive the full-on BBM experience.

Will you download the BBM messenger? Do you think BBM will save Blackberry from it’s current devastating company condition? Leave your comments below:

The news circulating on the recent smart watch flop by Samsung and their new Samsung Smartwatch is exactly what I predicted earlier last month!

If you go to my post about Samsung Smartwatch Fail Or Win, you will see that I already foretold the fail, now you can see on CNBC the exact same predictions coming true today!

The Smart watch isn’t anything special as I said earlier last month. The entire smartwatch idea isn’t really smart at all and can be seen in the lack of numbers seen in sales and social virility of the new “watch.” Samsung thought that they could make a serious change in the industry with their new Smartwatch, but to be honest, it doesn’t function well, and doesn’t even look that awesome.

Not only does it look bad, but its thick, bulky, and requires weird hand movements to even use in the first place! Why did Samsung even launch this anti-revolutionary product?

It’s anti-revolutionary because it does nothing different. On top of that, it does nothing better. It doesn’t solve any problems we have in our everyday lives, and if you bought the Samsung watch, lets hope you can find something useful in it! it’s not a problem solver, a problem maker!

But we thought the computer was a dumb idea and look at it now?

Yes, this is true, but the computer solved a problem! It filled a gap in the technology sector that was not filled. It helped us in many ways. Because of this, it was revolutionary and became successful. The problem with the Smartwatch is that it truly complicates life and defeats the purpose of itself. The reason I stopped using a watch, is because I had a smartphone which could do the same thing that the watch did; tell the time. The watch kept me tied to a device. The smartphone actually gave me freedom. It also did even more things and did it well. The Smartwatch does less, and does it worse!

If you believe in evolution, which I personally don’t, then you could visualize yourself turing back into a monkey, or into a previous evolutionary phase. This examples proves true as the smartphone decides to go back in time to a watch. Of coarse this is a metaphor for the stupidity of Samsung’s recent release, but its also the truth! Tell me I’m wrong?

What mobile device gets things done more efficiently? The Smartphone, or the Smartwatch? If your honest, you will say the smartphone, because its obvious. The Smartwatch idea is a train wreck as CNBC reported today, and its true! It throws a bunch of features together and does nothing different. The Smartwatch makes simple tasks even harder, which really defeats the purpose of new technology. Its nearly as useful as a useless box. (They actually do make such a thing too: Useless Box).

Wearables are apparently a sector that is growing, but it doesn’t mean the “Smartwatch” fills the gap properly.

Not only is it a useless wearable box, but its a sad turn for Samsung. Samsung has churned out some quality smartphones in the past, but with the increase in demand for wearables, Samsung thought the smart watch would be a great idea. Sadly its turning upside down into one of its worst products. If Samsung had thought it out better, it wouldn’t have launched this product! Now Apple seems to rise above as the only steady tech company that truly offers products that are useful.

People claim that Apple didn’t do anything different in the recent iPhone 5S update, but they did. They upgraded to 64-bit processing, added a Co-proccessor for the first time, increased battery life, were the first to give us fingerprinting technology, and on top of all that sold more then any previous iPhone launch.

The tech-battle continues to rage between Samsung and Apple as the iPhone continues to sell better then any phone ever. Staggering reports indicate that over 9-millions iPhones were sold on the first weekend. It looks like Apple is winning the tech battle.

Samsung’s recent ads also seem to be scaring people! (Samsung Smartwatch Ads Creeps People With Puppets).

The Smartwatch seems to be a flop, but what are your thoughts? Do you think that a wearable object like the watch can ever become a successful tech product? Please share your thoughts below.

The new Galaxy Gear Smartwatch & Galaxy Note 3 gets advertised in this video depicting some creepy puppets and more!

When it comes to competitive marketing, the one who produces the most edgy ad that gets people interested wins! Samsung seems to be getting a little creepy though with its new onslaught of commercial TV ads. Its not the first time Samsung has marketed with an edgy style, and it isn’t the last!

If you think the image above is creepy, then your just touching the surface of Samsung’s new ad featuring the Note 3, and Gear, which essentially is the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch. This Galaxy Smartwatch, we recently saw in our last post (Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Win Or Fail & Images). It be the first smart watch to hit big with many tech users.

The concept of a Apple iWatch smart watch also has been in development by Apple for some time now. It was also made fun of in a video recently by Microsoft. Is the idea of a “watch” that is smart worth making fun of? Samsung doesn’t think so, as their worldwide marketing campaign has started off with the video seen below.

As you can see its a weird introduction for Samsung and their new product lineup.

Only time will tell how successful these new products will prove to be. Apple is reportedly working to build their own Apple iWatch smart watch. It seems that this is quite possibly the direction that mobile technology is taking consumers. Samsung is the first to hit the marketing effort in selling these watches.

The death of the the Smartwatch:

I honestly believe that the concept of an iWatch, or Smartwatch by either Samsung or Apple is a unique idea indeed. Not only is it unique, but it’s also risky! People bought smartphones because they wanted ONE device to do what their laptop and phone and GPS did. Now people are trying to add another accessory that is unnecessary. This Smartwatch revolution is destined to fail if it doesn’t capture a need that isn’t already fulfilled by the smartphone itself. No one is going to buy or use a watch that does nothing uniquely different then their smartphone. In other words, if its doing the same thing, you won’t need 2. The only place where a smart watch would be useful, is if it did everything your smartphone does. If this were to happen, the “Smartwatch” idea would sell itself! But until this point, the death of the smart watch will most likely be seen after the smart-watch-fade fades off. Its a neat fad and idea, but with no real need.

What are your thoughts on the Smartwatch? Leave your comments below:

iKeyFinder Review. It’s is a new product for Android which can locate your keys similar to the Tile App for iPhone. This Tile App Android alternative locates what it’s attached to.

Do you ever lose your keys? Let’s face it, most of us lose our keys whether we want to admit to it or not, but now there’s a new product that helps solves this problem presented on your Android device. The iKeyFinder is a simple new invention that uses a smartphone app to send an alert to your keys whenever you’ve misplaced them. Its similar to the Tile App, but it actually works well on Android too!

We have looked into the iKeyFinder device in the last few days, and I am actually pretty impressed with its functionality and how easy it is to use. For example, it has a built-in USB charger that slides in and out so that you can easily plug it into your computer or charging brick. The recent Tile App we reviewed only lasts a year and then its trash! According to the manual, the battery will last two weeks on one charge and has a light that will flash red when the battery’s low. So far the iKeyFinder review seems to indicate an affordable and considerable key locater for Android devices.

Another feature I like is the lost key retrieval service. Located on the back of the device is a laser imprint with the phrase “Found Keys? Call 855-453-9346”, along with a unique serial number from which I register on iKeyFinder.com. The idea is that if I lose my keys and someone else happens to find them, that they will call the number on the back and turn in my keys. The iKeyFinder website states they will actually send whomever finds the keys a pre-paid envelope to get them and then they will send them back to you at no extra cost. If iKeyFinder truly backs this up, then that’s pretty assuring if you consider the hassle that some honest people might face when giving it back. It’s not a bad idea and seems like it might work. It will work better then the Tile app for iPhone as it has no such feature at this point.

But what definitely impressed me most with iKeyFinder is the fact that it actually works as you would expect. Although the App’s interface could use a little touching up, the overall functionality gets two-thumbs up. You simply press “CONNECT” to search and locate your missing keys. Once you’ve located your keys you press “LOCATE KEY” to sound the alarm and make your keys start ringing. It uses Bluetooth to connect your phone and your keychain, which has a range of about 50 meters. So if you happen to live in a big house you might have to walk around a bit to find the connection. This is similar to the Tile app alternative.

Overall I would say I’m pretty excited the iKeyFinder. It seems like a workable product with a future in the Android market! It’s very assuring to know that one might actually go key-loss-free for more then a year now!

The APP is free to download from the Google Play Store and is currently only compatible with Android phones. You can purchase this product from iKeyFinder.com for around $40. Its a great alternative if you wanted the Tile app locating device, but own an Android! You can read here why I think Tile App isn’t that “cool.”

These benchmarks tell the tale of another winner. The iPhone 5S races ahead in not one, not two, but more then 7 benchmarks and wins the title each time as seen below. This shows that Samsung truly has a run for its money! If the iPhone 5S was winning in only a few of these benchmarks, then the question would remain as which smartphone is the fastest and best. However this is clear as day, the 5S iPhone wins! There is no question that Apple’s new 64-Bit A7 Processor is leading the pack when it comes to Smartphone speed.

The iPhone 5S does enough with its A7 Chip, but it also has a M7 coprocessor which aids its processor and makes it even faster then it would normally be. The tests below were knowingly attributed to the iPhone’s advancement in chipset. Thankfully MacWorld recently posted the final benchmark scores and as seen below for the new iPhones against the closest contenders in the smartphone-world.

As you can see the scores are consistently higher in ALL the tests indicating that the iPhone really is the faster one. With technology advancing every day the Galaxy S4 is outdated and needs a new upgrade. The S4 did however do better then most all the other phones. It was really interestingly to see that the 5C iPhone model was slower then even the iPhone 5 which is much older as we already know. The iPhone 4 did so depressingly slow that it nearly didn’t make it on the graph clocking in at 210.0 on the Geekbench 3.

The Geekbench 3 Single core test truly indicated a strong win nearly by 2X as fast. As seen above the iPhone 5 itself is over 1 year old and still beats the Samsung Galaxy S4! Im not quite sure why Samsung’s Flagship S4 is coming in at such a slow mark, but the 5S is what really amazed us. It truly wins in every event.

Above is shown the graphics benchmarks of the iPhone 5S stacked up against its other competitors. To appropriately rate the iPhone against it’s competitors we need more then just one test. And as you can see we have many tests. As seen above the iPhone 5S wins in more then one event of benchmarking in the graphics section rating.

Sunspider JavaScript is another test that frequents most smartphone speed test assessments. A seen below its pretty outstanding how wide the bar-separation is between the 5S and the other competitors and smartphones running on Android and IOS alike.

The iPhone 5S comes in at first place nearly beating the S4 competitor more then twice! This must be embarrassing for Samsung as they truly do have a great smartphone. But how can benchmarks lie when you have many to tell the truth.

Battery consumption is always a factor to include in the mix. Were sure anyone can make a fast smartphone or phablet, but can anyone make a benchmark-winning device to last long on battery life at the same time? Yes, Apple along with the iPhone 5S has done it when it comes to battery performance under high CPU usage. As seen below, the iPhone 5S truly does a great job at utilizing the battery it has. One of the woes of the iPhone 5 was the battery. We will always be complaining about battery life for years to come, but it wont get much better. At least Apple squeezed a little more usage out of the already small battery it has. Lets hope this new iPhone’s battery life lasts long and doesn’t degrade over time and usage.

The test above was a looping video that was continuously repeating at the same level of brightness, same video, same charge rate. Everything was geared to get an honest, true, and real estimation of the batter life.

Summary:

People seem to always complain about benchmarks and say that they really don’t give a true estimate of performance, however while this may be true in some areas, you can see above that many of these tests were done using different benchmarking softwares. Because of this variation in software we should get a constantly high score and this we did. Across the board, the benchmarks show that the iPhone 5S does win.

It is interesting that the Galaxy S4 did load pages faster in some circumstances as seen in my previous post on iPhone vs. Galaxy S4 Browser Load Test. It could be the background apps running on the iPhone 5S, but the iPhone 5S does come in close and loads some sites faster. This could be due to the fact that some browsers load data differently. In fact we could expect different results using a different mobile browser like Chrome. Because of these browser loading differences, it isn’t an honest representation of a devices speed. That is why these benchmarks were carefully crafted thanks to MacWorld.

The Apple iPhone 5S has launched and sold millions of units as reported by MacRumors. People are flocking to buy the new iPhone 5S. However the Galaxy S4 is also a smartphone to contend with! There is a huge following after the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5S. But to properly asses a smartphone, we need actual results and tests. Today via RedmondPieTV YouTube channel, we have a browser speed test including the iPhone 5S versus the Galaxy S4. This mashup shows you exactly how fast each device responds when it comes to the browser itself. The iPhone is running the IOS 7. IOS 7 is Apple’s latest and greatest OS. Today it is pitted against the Android operating system running on the Samsung galaxy S4. The truth will be seen in the video seen below.

The battle between Samsung and Apple continues as the browsers race to beat each other. Apple however wins this battle against Apple’s chief competitor, the Galaxy S4.

The conduct a proper speed test, both phones must have cleared cookies, cache, and all browser data. Both devices also have the most up to date software installed and current. In the series of tests, the iPhone 5S and the Galaxy S4 both were put through many tests enveloping HTML5 and JavaScript as well as other tasks seen. Yes, the galaxy S4 has a bigger screen, but bigger isn’t always better! In this case the iPhone 5S absolutely smashes and mashes the Galaxy S4 in every test thrown at it. The new iPhone 5S specs showing that the Apple has the first 64 bit processor is in fact the real reason for this speed. The safari browser has been updated for faster performance, however the new processor featuring 64-bit is the true innovator in this new Apple iPhone 5S. The speed is unmatched when it comes to most tasks involving basic and advanced processing as seen in the benchmark itself. The actual loading of the page did in fact indicate that both phones were similar in page load. The benchmark test proved that the iPhone was ahead in many ways. nearly 3X as fast!

As you can see, the iPhone 5S speeds past in the benchmark test pitted against the Android alternative. Samsung is however ready to respond with it’s competing “S5” as we believe it will be called. The galaxy S4 will be upgraded to a 64-bit competitor which will soon be seen in the Galaxy S5. This test would be more accurate if the Galaxy smartphone seen in the video featured a 64-bit processor, however its too bad so sad for the Galaxy in this test. Watch for the iPhone 5S vs Galaxy S5 speed test. This will be a fair and square browser test if Samsung comes up with a 64-bit chip!

Yes, its true, iPhone Screens Are Much Faster Then Android Screens as this study shows. Minimum app response times (MART), measures the time it takes from when you press an app for the screen to when it actually actuates the application start and open. The internet is filled with reviews and speed tests of the iPhone 5, iPhone 4, vs other androids, and windows phones. This time we see the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 pitted against other Androids and Windows phones using (MART) via cloud streaming company Agawi. As you can see the iPhone 5 is nearly 2X as fast as the Galaxy S4 and other Androids. This is pretty crazy!

Below are the screen response time. Bigger numbers indicate slower response times. Smaller numbers are better! Numbers are in MS, (milliseconds).

As you can see the iPhone 5 is nearly 2X as fast as its competitors. This is something you don’t actually realize when you take a first look at the galaxy S4. Yes the S4 is fast and has a nice look and feel to it, however the iPhone’s digitizer is able to compute your finger’s location faster and more accurately!

The moto-X is very slow as seen above with (MART) at 123 vs the iPhone 5 at only 55. You can also see to our surprise that the iPhone 4 which is fairly old actually comes in faster then the Galaxy S4 which people say is better. iPhone 4 at 85, and Galaxy S4 at 114. This comes to a surprise given that the iPhone 4 is 3+ years old already!

The video below shows the way these specifications are calculated.

As you can see in the test, iPhones truly to have a faster screen! Its easy to look at the fancy exterior given to the galaxy S4 without actually looking at the specs. As you see here, the iPhone 4 which is much older, still outperformed its galaxy S4 competitor, right from the past!

The iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 truly are benchmarked as better devices worthy of praise. Especially when you see reports like this! What do you think?

Nokia Mobile And Microsoft’s New Project – We recently covered the new buyout from Microsoft of Nokia and I have some serious words to say! Microsoft’s new buy for 7.1 Billion may be a fail, and new signs show that it could be more and more of a reality. Nokia has been around for many years and this the first instance of failure was when the iPhone came out and took out most of their business. However they didn’t have to sell out and fail. They sold out to Microsoft and I personally don’t think its worth it!

This most recent Microsoft purchase seems to be one of the worst. When Skype was purchased It was a great deal for Microsoft, because Microsoft didn’t just resolve to remove the name, but instead add it to its collection of good companies. Its sad that Microsoft has decided to remove the name “NOKIA” and place “MICROSOFT” in its place. The value of the brand “NOKIA” itself isn’t worth deleting from the mobile phone competition and its sad to see it happening. Microsoft isn’t that bad, but why would you buy a profitable and well-known company and then just take the name away? The name “NOKIA” has been around for a long time and seeing it be removed and deleted is only a bad move for Microsoft in my mind!

Why Is It A Bad Move?

Its a bad idea because no one in there right mind would desolve a previously profitable and aged company for its own less-known for mobile phones name. Its just unfortunate. Microsoft doesn’t know as much of the mobile phone industry as Nokia did in the first place. They think they can do it better? Maybe Microsoft just has too much money on their hands and needs a place to throw it?

Its also a bad move because some previous employees plan on making new company. The new company will be ironically called “Newkia.” It doesn’t matter why its being called this name, but what matters is what “Newkia” is planning on doing. Newkia’s plan is to make “better mobile phones.” This should cause utter fright to the newest sellout of Nokia, because they most likely know the mobile-phone world better then Microsoft will. This news was via RedmondPie.

Nokia could have had explosive possibilities had it not been for the stupid buyout. Right now all the mobile phone companies are leveling their competition because everyone is catching up on the technology. These companies are also lacking in major innovation. This causes other companies to be left on a level playing field for major future developments. Apple doesn’t have to be the only company that made historical breakthroughs in technology. Its time for a new company like Nokia, or any other to come up with “the next big thing.”

The truth is that Nokia could have been a sustaining and incredible company! Do you have any thoughts? Please share them on our: VaultFeed Facebook Page.

How To Check ESN or EMEI Number Online – An ESN is a “Electronic Serial Number.” Carriers often use this number along with the EMEI that is embedded into your phone to track its use. If you didn’t pay your contract you can’t sell the phone to someone else in many circumstances, so its always important to check these numbers with a site called CheckEsnFree.com. All you have to do is go into the settings of the iPhone and find the “EMEI” and the “ESN.” Then input it into the website listed here and it will tell you if it is clear and ready to be used! This will keep you safe if you ever end up buying a iPhone or smartphone off craigslist or eBay. You can visit the site here: CheckEsnFree.com.

If you use a carrier based smartphone, its about time you read this post! You may find yourself wanting to purchase an iPhone, or a different smartphone, however if its used, you will want to check the ESN and the EMEI number to make sure that it is “clean.” What I mean by that, is that the phone you are purchasing is off the account with its carrier and able to be used with your new number. This is NOT the same term as “Unlocked.” Even if a phone is unlocked, it can be blocked in the U.S. and other locations if the EMEI is bad. Its important to check both prior to any third-party cell phone purchase. If you buy it new, you won’t have to worry about this if your purchasing it from a reputable company!

If you need more help finding the number on the iPhone, you can go here: Apple Support Document.

After you have located the ESN or EMEI numbers you just need to head on over to CheckEsnFree.com. Then you will need to select your appropriate carrier from the list of carriers. In my case I chose SPRINT US, because that is my current carrier. THen I entered my ESN number which started like this A10000xxxxxxx. Then it tells you if it is clear and good to go!

Never buy another smartphone, iPhone, or other device without knowing FOR SURE if it is not blacklisted, or on another account. This could save you a lot of time, money, and hassle!
