12.9-Inch iPad Concept VS. Currant 9.7-Inch Apple iPad [IMAGES] Should Apple Make This LARGE iPad?
When Apple first produced the iPad first generation, they didn’t dream of a 12.9″ inch laptop size iPad, however it seems that Tim Cook and Apple see this as a currant possibility! If you thought that Apple wasn’t into making different iPad variations think twice! Since the passing of Steve Jobs, we now have the original iPad, and even a iPad MINI now which is the first idea of differentiating the iPad’s screen size. Many people may be skeptical of how this would effect the currant popularity and brand loyalty of the traditional iPad. However when the iPad “Mini” was produced people bought it just as fast as all previous models! The fact is that Apple SELLS its stuff! The question remains as to if this larger iPad option in 12.9″ would be a really good idea?
As you can see in the above illustration, the larger iPad, would greatly surpass any “tablet” iPad produced by Apple to date! The question remains How much will it cost? This single question is the determining question that may decide the fate or success of something like this. I personally believe that less people would buy the larger iPad, because the whole reason for an iPad, is for it to be “small” If you want something with a bigger screen you would just have a Macbook Air, which does a LOT more, and actually gives the user a easier built in way to type. I can just see advertisements for an iPad case that gives you keyboard functionality for the new 12.9″ iPad. I just don’t feel that this really makes sense? WHY not just buy the Macbook Air? You can do more, and do it easier. iPad’s have not reached a greater productivity point over laptops in my mind. You don’t get a keyboard or mouse pad on a iPad, and functionality is decreased. What do you think? WOuld a iPad with 12.9 inch screen a good idea anyways?
As you can see, it looks just like an Macbook Air minus the keyboard! I think its a cool idea for Apple to make, however I don’t think that they will make a lot of money off the idea. Smartphones and electronics are in a design-stage of getting “BIGGER” and “LARGER” when “SMALLER” should be the game plan! We need mobile phone and iPad’s, not larger phones! But what do you think?

Conclusion: While the iPad may be a cool idea, and YES, it does look cool, the market that Apple would have to sell these devices to would be greatly smaller then there currant market with cheaper and more portable devices. If they decided to produce this large iPad, I might be one of the only people to buy it. Honestly the every-day Apple user will purchase an equally priced laptop over the over-sized iPad that does less, which costs similar. The Vault Feed, thinks its a cool idea, but low demand may result in an inability to retain iPad-customer loyalty and overall Apple profit!
