You Can’t Cut A Finger Off To Unlock An iPhone 5s With Touch ID!

Were all excited to see the arrival of the iPhone 5S. Were also more excited about the new fingerprint scanning abilities. Apple calls it Touch ID. It will be used to unlock your iPhone, buy apps, and other actions! (Read More: iPhone Fingerprinting)

New news indicates that the new Apple iPhone 5S with Touch ID will NOT worked if you try and use a severed finger. In other words you need a live finger to unlock your iPhone with a fingerprint. Its interesting and great news to have on hand if you ever plan on stealing someones phone AND finger.

You can also be at rest and know that your finger won’t be stolen for the purposes of unlocking or buying an app on an iPhone!

Research and updates on fingerprint technology have advanced till the point that the technology can detect if the limb / finger is live or dead! This newer technology indicates a much better fingerprint technology. we have seen many movies indicating that a fingerprint was hackable by copying someones fingerprint and using a scanned copy. This new technology will prevent it!

CITEworld released some information showing the capabilities of the iPhone 5S and Touch ID. It’s Pretty cool!

“With the new sensors you don’t have to move your finger, just press it against the reader. And like the sensor in theiPhone 5S, the sensors that will be in laptops and keyboards and other phones can detect the ridge and valley pattern of your fingerprint not from the layer of dead skin on the outside of your finger (which a fake finger can easily replicate), but from the living layer of skin under the surface of your finger, using an RF signal.”

This is the first instance of the fingerprinting technology in a phone. It also seems like it will be the best ever seen on any device period! We will be happy to get the first look at this and a hands on review soon. Many reviews and hands on demonstrations are hitting the web. We will soon get our post up when we get out hands on the iPhone 5S!
